Our goal is the education of today's health care financial professional. Mid York is a unique organization because of its scope and range, which is geared towards hospitals, physicians offices, nursing homes and specialty health care and medical entities as it pertains to medical billing, coding, and admissions/registration issues. Our membership covers all of New York state, as ours is the only AAHAM group in the state. We hold four regular seminars a year, as well as a special spring institute once a year, that focus on medical billing, cash collections, management and legislative issues. We invite major representatives from all insurance providers such as Medicare, Medicaid, and State Insurance Fund, as well as expert consultants on these subjects and more from all over the country. We offer national certification opportunities for all aspects of medical business office operations through AAHAM for national members. These include the Certification of Patient Account Management (CPAM), Collections personnal (CCAM), as well as a host of other certifications. Certifications from AAHAM signify the highest level of professionalism for people in the field of healthcare financial management. Membership in our organization offers benefits including a reduced rate for all seminars, access to our membership newsletter, and scholarship opportunities for members and/or family members studying in health care related fields.
